Robert E. “K9RQT” Wagner, 88, of Germantown Hills, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011, at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Ralph Barnett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Bob was born in Peoria on October 25, 1923, a son of Halsey and Ollie (Nash) Wagner. They preceded him in death, along with his brothers, Ralph D. and Vyrl (Berdena) Wagner, and niece, Lynette Wagner. He is survived by his sister, Lois Larimore of Peoria; sister-in-law, Jeannette Wagner of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. Bob retired in 1978, after thirty years of service, as a machinist with the East Peoria facility for Caterpillar. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1946. Bob was a member of 10-10 International Net amateur radio and participated in Hamfest. He earned his pilot license and was the proud owner of a 1946 Cessna 120. He owned the same plane for forty years and participating in many fly-ins. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Illinois Chapter.

My condolences go out to Bob's family and friends. I was priviledged to know him for 2 years and he was a wonderful gentleman and friend to me. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him! I will always remember our talks and mutual love of our pets.
